The stages of Hyperpigmntation/melasma disappear by our Chinese herbal treatment

 I had seen many cases of Melasma, Freckles, Age spots, Uneven skin tone, Dark spots and Brown patches in these years. It is a good opportunity for me to share with you the stages of how skin pigmentation gradually disappear during our Chinese herbs treatment.

Through my studies,I noticed an very interesting phenomena :  there are 4 stages of change in the Melasma when our clients are using HOMO-SP Chinese herbals supplement with Herbal facial mask within 12 weeks to 24 weeks.

The 4 stages of skin pigmentation healing progress in 12 - 24 weeks

1st Stage : Clients might noticed the colour of  spots or patches become darker. Alex have to explain to them to gain their understanding. It is possible that some clients give up the treatment  if we don't explain the progress of healing to them.

Rough forehead wrinkles treated in 1 month

On 24 Nov 2012, I met Mrs L, a 38 years old lady who seeking for natural treatment to solve her rough wrinkles on forehead. Besides that, she also heard a lot about facelift acupuncture, this is her first time trying acupuncture treatment on her face.

I carefully diagnosed her body through a series of Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic system, such as tongue inspection, palmistry reading, taking the pulse & meridian checking), knowing she has a very poor digestive system, such as easily vomit or diarrhea if she ate the wrong foods.

The first step is to select a series of Chinese herbs that can improve her digestion. In Chinese Medicine theory, we believe if a person who have strong spleen & stomach (both organs), he or she will have a better skin texture. In order to provide more essential nutrients to the body for firming up the skin, I select Codonopsis, Astragalusvroot, Atractylodes, Poria, Licorice,Jujube fruit, ginger,Cimicifuga,Barley,Wild Yam and Hyacinth bean. These are very simple food based herbs that most Asian women can find it in their Kitchen for cooking Chinese soup.

The second step is to custom made a Chinese Herbal facial mask for Mrs L. The herbal supplement work from the inner, and the mask will help us to further enhance the facelift and wrinkle repair effect from outside. Mrs L's skin is very dry and easily have a lot of wrinkles, I select Chinese Barley, Wild yam, Almond, pearl powder, Poria as the foundation of the facial mask, through observation from week to week, I will slightly adjust her facial mask ingredients. This really make sense because our skin condition change from time to time depend on the weather, foods, rest etc.

Last but not least, I asked Mrs L if she really have time for acupuncture. As the research paper said about facelift acupuncture - daily acupuncture for 1 month will create stronger facelift effect. But in Malaysia, not a lot of people are able to visit my office everyday, unless those who need to attend very important event such as wedding, ball room party or reunion gathering events, then I will try my best to help them to look great in less than a month. Chinese Medicine Talk in Evangel Christian Asembly (Sept-Oct 2012)

On September & October 2012, I had been invited to West Zone (Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya) of Evangel Christian Asembly to conduct Chinese Medicine Wellness Talk. There will be 4 training sessions that emphasized on:

1. How to perform acupressure for improving general health.

2. How to find out your body type through Chinese Medicine system.

3. How to select the right food for your body type.

4. How to prepare simple Chinese herbal tea / soup for weight lose, better energy level, good skin and prevent flu.

5. How to select the right exercise to suit your body type.

6. Learn the ear reflexology for activate your inner organs.

The whole series of talks will take up 4 sessions only. Every Thursday night we will learn one chapter and half of the time is to allow the audiences to ask questions and there will be a lot of demo and sharing session goes on. We are happy to attract 20-30 persons to join the class, many people don't believe this is a community service and it is totally FREE. Some people miss up the chance to learn new things. What a pity.... May be next time we should reach out to the public more.

The audiences are really curious about the Meridian system in Chinese Medicine. In order for them to learn some of the important acupressure points, I have to tell them ancient stories about how the Chinese discovered the Meridian system in human body.

One of the night, many were late because of the heavy rain. It is not easy for working people to rush all the way to attend our talk every Thursday night. In have to give those who attend my class a big clap!

These 2 are the brother and sister from ECA church. Thank for their help in the LCD and sound system setting. The left is Ah Khen and the right is Alan.

This is a big challenge for me. Believe me it is not easy to prepare the PowerPoint presentation slides and also the notes for students. In term of selecting the message and info for the talk, many efforts and times had been invested. Now I realized a good lecture always come with a solid preparation. 

I will need to go down from the stage and helping them to find the actual location of Acupressure point. There are many books in the market that teach you the knowledge of acupressure but it is better to ask a Chinese Medicine physician or acupuncturist about the location of the point. It make a lot of difficult when you can not get the right point. I remembered the first time I learn about this 7 years old, and I am so lucky that I have a great acupuncture master to teach me.

Searching for the "He Gu" point (Large intestine meridian Number 14), the effective acupressure method I am sharing is the Japanese press and release technique that come with an exhale 3 seconds when pressing and inhale 3 seconds while releasing. 

And I also teach them the miracle point for balancing the hormones -- San Yin Jiao (Spleen  Meridian number 6). Women love this acupressure point because it can regulate menstrual cycle and help to reduce body weight.

I demo the method of how to increase Basal Metabolic Rate by a special acupressure technique that can immediately create the effect of rapid fat burning effect.

We have student who is really keen in learning, they even make use of the technology, immediately capture the lecture into video clips. I was touched at that time....

My friend Madam Sim come all the way from Old Klang road to support me and assist me on the first class. She even bring a touch light to check some of the students' tongues. Tongue diagnose method is also part of the Chinese Medicine diagnosis system.

I am really happy to be able to provide my little help to the community. There are many people still don't know how to achieve a good health by Chinese Medicine way. It is sad to see people end up to spending too much on unnecessary supplement or being cheated on certain therapy which doesn't heal the body. I hope there are more Chinese Medicine practitioners can step forward and share they knowledge to the public. As we educate the public about Chinese Medicine concept for well-being, we are actually helping them to have more awareness on the little sign of sicknesses in their daily life.

Face Reading & TCM (面相与中医学)

For a person engaged in Traditional Chinese Medicine research, this subject is not easy to write well, but I accept this challenge. In the traditional China metaphysic knowledge, we have five arts, they are: Mountain ( 山Shan),Medicine (医Yi), Destiny (命Ming), Divination (卜Pu) and form (相Xiang). These knowledge are based on I-Ching to operate as a template of human life in pursuit of good health,happiness and good fortune. In Chinese medicine, one of the four diagnostic method is to look at the form. A good doctor must have a very sharp observation on the form, aspecially a clear observation on the patient's face, palm and other body part to get more information on the disease that he have.

If a person's fate is not good, I don't really think a fortune teller or Feng Shui master can help him, because fate is in all about your health. A person who in bad luck, his health must be in big troubles.That's why you never see a rich and successful person with atheistic eyes,tired body and weak mind. From the perspective of Chinese medicine, we can also get a glimpse from his facial expression of how his internal organs function.

During the early 5th century, Bodhidharma not only having a great achievement in Buddhism, but he is also a guru in face reading. He believes the most impotant part in a person's face is the eyes. If rating by 100 marks to comment on eyes, cheek bones, nose, forehead, chin, eyebrow, mouth, teeth, ears, the eyes accounted for 50 marks, this mean your eyes are windows of showing your health, wealth and destiny. In Chinese Medicine, we can also observe the performance of your internal organs through eyes. Through our experience, if the elderly's eye vision began to weaken, we must be very much concerned about their health, if their eyes turn blind, they will be living a very difficult senior life.

In the medical consultation process, I very much attention to the patient's eyes, even the dark circles, fine lines, dark spots, or bags under the eyes, I would propose that patients pay more attention to the usual rest time, because of early aging phenomenon began to appear in the eye. If they don't take care for their body, a few years later, their health status will become worse.

Apart from the eyes, the facial complexion of observation is also important. Every morning when you get out of bed, you must observe your face in the natural light source before brushing your teeth, eating breakfast . Carefully observe the Qi & colour changes on your face, you will notice soemething different as the more times you look at yourself. A person who have a good life and bright future, his skin is smooth & moist, the facial Qi & Colour like natural light, bright and very fresh, refreshing. On the contrary, if the face bleak or look like hovering dark clouds, he is in the bad period of his life.

What is Qi & Colour? The so-called "Qi" is the innate motive, coupled with the strength function of internal organs arise. "Qi" is acquired fortune (Theory of Five Elements Evolutions and Six Kinds of Natural Factorsship) characterization, which is based on the five elements, four seasons of the solar term arising from change. In our clinic, we not only study the facial Qi & colour changes in a patient, we also very concern about the tones, freckle, wrinkle that appeared on their face. In general, we believe that a healthy person must have good skin and also good Qi & colour. That's why we developed a series of cosmetic acupucnture programs to help patients who want to look good or improve their luck.

对一个从事中医研究工作的人来说，这个题材并不容易写得好，不过我还是接受这个挑战。在中国五术是指〝山、医、命、卜、相〞这五种学问。它以易经为范本，是人类为了追求人生幸福所设计的一门趋吉避凶的方术。在中医学里，四诊法中的望诊也属于〝相〞的范畴，我的老师陈宝春前辈是易经高手，他在课堂上要求念中医的学生一定要有一双明察秋亳的眼晴。

一个人的命运不好，就算找了一流的算命家或风水师都帮不了他，因为命运是在健康的掌控之中。一个终日双眼无神、精神涣散、头脑不清醒的人运气一定不好，他的健康肯定出了大问题。从中医的角度分析，我们也可以从他的面相一窥他的五脏六腑的功能表现。

达摩祖师不只在佛学上有成就，在相学也有很深的造诣。他认为一个人的脸孔中，最重要的是眼晴。如按100分来评论目、颧、鼻、额、颏、眉、口、齿、耳，眼晴就占了50分，可见一个人的富贵、贫贱、寿夭、劳逸、刚柔、生死，不但全身的精、气与神(五脏六腑的精气)都系于此灵魂之窗。当然，连最基本的才智愚拙也能从一个人的眼神观察出来。有的老年人如果眼晴开始模糊不清或视力减弱时，我们就要十分关注他们的健康了，如果眼晴都快瞎了，做人又有什么意思呢？

在诊病的过程中，我十分留意病人的眼晴，那怕是黑眼圈、细纹、黑斑或眼袋问题，我都会建议病人多注意平时的作息时间，因为早期衰老的现象开始出现在眼部了，如果不多照顾身体，再过几年，那些影响美丽的障碍物(黑眼圈、细纹、黑斑或眼袋问题) 就会〝永久性居留〞在眼晴周围，再过多几年，眼神都没了，健康也会每况愈下。

除了眼晴之外，面部气色的观察也很重要。每天早上一起床，在你洗脸、刷牙、吃早餐之前，选在自然光线之处，仔细观察自己的脸上的气色。按气色的观点来看，气色美、润泽，象发光、发亮而且很清新、清爽的那种气色，就是人生前途一片光明的表现。相反的，如果脸上暗淡无光或乌云笼罩，〝黑口黑面〞，〝鞋口鞋面〞整个〝晚娘〞托世，这就代表运气哀败。

气色，简单地说，一是「气」，二是「色」。所谓的「气」是先天之动机，再加上五脏六腑的功能强弱而产生。「色」则是后天运气(这里指中医最高境界的五运六气学问)的表徵，这是依据五行、四季的节气而产生的变化。在谦和堂，我们除了研究可以改善脸上气色、美白、祛斑、抗皱等中药和针灸的方法，我们还开发了外服纯中药的面膜，在中医美容的领域中取得一定的成果。
